Art deco slip shade 5 light fixture chandelier 4 shades. Offered is this original art deco 5 slip shade ceiling chandelier / fixture. There are only four original shades present. Otherwise, tihs is a nice original period fixture. The four shades are thick frosted glass with rectangular & curved vertical columns and clear, raised, flower panels.
There is a front, top center flower panel and the back bottom sides both have flowers too. The light weight, silver metal, non-magnetic, frame appears to be aluminum?
It has a similar flower pattern on the bottom face and scrlols and various lines on the sides. The inside of the shade frames are stamped b 56 & then a # 1,2,3, or 4. The center hanging finial is magnetic. I measure the present height at approx.
That is with only a two link chain between the ceiling bell & the top of the fixture. A longer chain could be used to give more height. The fixture alone si approx. 11 wide & the shades make it approx. This is entirely as found.
The original sockets and silk wrapped wiring looks complete. There is a newer styel wire at the top of the fixture. I recommend re-wiring to be safe. The metal is dirty but the original paint looks complete as far as i acn tell. The four shades have no rcacks or repairs. There is a few edge nicks and small chips. The fixture is deep and hides most flaws. Nothing i saw was serious or distracting. The shades dimensions are 4 tall on the back and 6 tall on the front. The bottom frotn is approx. 1-1/2 wide on the outside & 2-1/8 at the back. The back top outside edges have a rectangular flared tab to hold the shade in teh fixture.
